Program

Lima 2019 opens its doors to all athletes. The Pan American Games feature all the sports in the Olympic program, including the two reinstatements, golf and rugby-7, returning after several years. Also, we are bringing to the consideration of the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO) the possibility to include, within the role of challenges, those sports that were recognized by the International Olympic Committee, such as bowling, karate, squash, skating, baseball and softball, among others.

FROM JULY 26th TO AUGUST 11th
The XVIII Pan American Games shall be carried out between Friday July 26th and Sunday August 11th, an ideal date that combines the needs of athletes from across the Americas and, we hope, be propitious to arrive in the best physical and technical form to give a great show and perhaps to try and break the existing record marks on date.

SCENARIOS
Lima 2019 has established two major sports centers (or Pan American rings) to meet 85% of the provided sports in the official program. The first cluster will be in the same range of the Villa Panamericana, it will be at a maximum distance of 20 minutes, while the second cluster will be at about 40 minutes, approximately.

This location has been chosen (still in draft stage and feasibility) to be the site of a new arena, the Coliseum of Lima, with a capacity for 10.000 people, and it should be completed in late 2016 to hold competitions volleyball.

Not far from the Pan American Sports Center is the Campo de Marte, which will host the swimming, synchronized swimming, water polo and diving competitions. Also, this ring includes the National stadium, the Alejandro Villanueva and the Monumental Stadiums for soccer tournaments, masculine and feminine.

Basketball, tennis and weightlifting will go to Miraflores district, having as proposed scenarios the Eduardo Dibós Coliseum, Club Las Terrazas and Hotel Maria Angola Convention Center. Both, Dibós and the María Angola, have hosted world championships before. In the same vicinity, at the Coliseum Manuel Bonilla, the taekwondo will take place, and beach area will host the volleyball tournament.
